Profiles of Young Adults by Legislative District
Each PATHWAY'S legislative district profile allows for the comparison of the demographics of young adults who live in a particular state assembly, state senate, or U.S. congressional district to young adults across California. Once you have selected a district, you can follow a link to a profile that includes information from publically available databases on the education, employment, and poverty status of that district’s 18- to 26-year-olds.
These Profiles of Young Adults are part of the PATHWAYS to Postsecondary Success project. Under the auspices of the University of California's All Campus Consortium on Research for Diversity (UC/ACCORD) and with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, this project aims to advance research on poverty, produce useful tools that improve educational practice, and inform the U.S. policy agenda on the relationship between poverty and education. PATHWAYS Profiles of Young Adults are intended to encourage dialogue among the members of government agencies, community-based organizations, educational institutions, and businesses about how best to support the transitions of youth into productive adults who contribute to the civic and economic well-being of their local communities.
